Extract from my last interview:
What would you say your main hobbies are?
Visiting state prisons when on the road, and asking the guard where the souvenir shop is located at. Also, inexpressively posing for photographs that make no sense in other people’s homes.
So… You mean to say you’re kind of strange.
An odd bird, a weird fish. Always have, always will.

Suuuch a true story! (including being interviewed). We found ourselves driving through Leavenworth, Kansas, and bumping into this massive United States Penitentiary by chance one sunny afternoon (it’s a lie. I included it as a MUST SEE in our pseudo-itinerary. It’s so massive, so intimidating, so cold we HAD to see it up close). That’s why we drove into the “Visitor’s parking”, and completely ignoring that we couldn’t be there decided to take a little tour in our car asking a really nice guard if they had a little “museum” that would tell us the story of how it came to be.
He only said: “if you want to take a picture you can see it better from the other side of the street”.

Not 2 minutes had gone by and we were chased by a bulldog of a guard driving a pimped-up golf cart. “I can confiscate that camera. Leave immediately”, and so we did…

Next best thing was to make myself look eerie and weird in every house around the block. And so we did.
