Bye-bye cowboys, hello Indians (100% politically incorrect? Maybe, but this is the fastest way to illustrate how abrupt the change felt as soon as we crossed the state line from Texas to the great plains of Oklahoma.
We came in through what is proudly called Chikasaw Nation (one of the big 5 civilized tribes). Casinos, water towers, more casinos.
OMG! Is that a water park they built around Oklahoma’s largest waterfall? We HAVE TO go check it out! And so we did… Park ranger and chief in command Bill was extremely nice to let us park where he first thought our Jeep would not fit (we’re Venezuelans, we usually make it work, so we sucked our bellies in, tightly closed our eyes and sandwiched our Jeep between two monster trucks).
No, we don’t mind the traffic at all. More time in our dear Florida before we head into the unknown (notice the Pink Flamingo top honoring our dear sunshine state!).
