What if the day brings colors in once again?

You play it cool, for a minute hold the smile, and when no one’s looking jump up, up high.
It’s bright and it will only get more, but in that Tulsa color palette kind of way… sparse, controled, little options but intense.
Focused without knowing in which direction the wind will blow once again. Turn around, it might be coming from behind.

    Ducks swimming in a lobby

    Swimming, decoying, parading around.
But… There’s a story behind, which makes it all the more interesting, but I will keep, not share. If you wish to know you must travel and experiment.
Seems like carrying a cat on your head…
I would never dream to assume the improvised hat comes close to the geniality of the live display.
    Don’t say…
Inside portrayed as outside. Water runs here but rain will not soak. Do you understand what I mean? Improvise, feel free, you TCB but worry less, things move at their own pace. They say “follow your bliss”, I say throw ducks in a lobby and see what comes.

If they ask: “what did you like most about Kansas (Missouri) roadtrip girl? I’ll have to say “that swing hanging from the endless rope tied to the centenary tree that got struck by lighting once and only has a few more years to live”.
    True story.

We could not leave Kansas City without paying a short visit to the long-thick-mustached heaven for 2 wheelers, the Harley Davidson Headquarters.

What?! Kansas City is not in Kansas? Yes it is, and in Missouri too. How does that work? Well, a street divides the states while the city remains the same… But, does it really? (no, it doesn’t).
This is my ode to the gutsy State Line Road.

Take me to Mount Rushmore!! Pleeease!

Hello Route 66! I had no expectations whatsoever, we were just looking for the famous over-the-hill-gang rebuilt round Barn of Arcadia. I think I hadn’t even payed a lot of attention that we would have the opportunity to drive along the Mother Road. And as usual, when you do just the right amount of research and leave space for improvisation great things come to you as if by magic.

We bid our farewell to Texas and the cottage in Randy and Donna’s garden, by taking a stroll around downtown Dallas (ok, it was a drive. No walking took place).

Bill welcomes The Road Less Traveled to Turner Falls Waterpark, housing Oklahoma’s largest waterfall.

Another glance at our stop in Louisiana.

Sculpture turned cylinder of sound by him.

Like one of my very dear friends says: “from the sublime, to the (insert adjective here)”. That is how this quick stop in Fort Worth, Texas has proven to be. This morning started with an early rise, greeted by the best of Texan hospitality when the moment I opened the cottage’s doors I was greeted by a bunch of warm muffins wrapped in the best Laura Ashley style.
I spent most of the morning “working” on this monster of a project that is never satisfied. Photographs? Every single day. Paintings? As soon as I get back. Drawings? There should be more, but I need this time to absorb. Short improvised experimental film? Heck yeah! Why not? So, recording I did all morning long, while my first chief in command paraded around the garden and stepped on some camouflaged dog sh*t.
Hope it brings you lots of good luck! ;)
We would never consider leaving this town without paying a visit to The Modern. Pure architectural porn.
